FarmShare was launched in 2008 by Kari Moore, a dedicated local food advocate, long-time locavore, and curious cook. Kari's idea was simple -- to share the farm-fresh flavor and fun of eating locally and seasonally.
FarmShare features seasonal offerings of fresh, Northeast Ohio produce, locally made artisan cheeses and specialty foods, as well as recipes and culinary inspiration to help make the most of the local harvest.
FarmShare also offers unique opportunities to get acquainted with Northeast Ohio's local food community through seasonal events, tastings, and explorations as well as individualized tours.
Kari also provides local sourcing and consulting services to chefs, restaurants, retailers, and other food industry professionals interested in going local.
How FarmShare Works
FarmShare has cultivated partnerships with farmers throughout the Northeast Ohio region who grow the freshest, most flavorful fruits and vegetables. We also work with local bakers, beekeepers, and artisan food producers to offer a variety of wholesome and delicious, Ohio-made foods.
Seasonal FarmShare offerings feature:
-A hand-picked harvest of certified organic and sustainably grown seasonal vegetables;
-Seasonal selections of vine-ripened fruits & berries like fresh blueberries, juicy Red Haven peaches, just-picked raspberries, heirloom apples;
-Fresh culinary herbs: fresh basil, rosemary, tarragon, parsley and more;
-Fresh-baked, artisan breads and baked goods;
-Small-batch, Ohio artisan foods such as fruit preserves, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, organic flour, grains and staple foods, wholesome, whole grain snack items and more;
Seasonal FarmShare offerings are announced on the FarmShare website and to members of the FarmShare Friends mailing list. Orders can be placed online at the FarmShare Shop with pickups at pre-arranged locations. Home/office delivery is also available for an additional charge. Shipping can also be arraigned for non-perishable items.
